Senior Accountant

  • Duties
    • Lead various accounting/audit engagements including establishing and maintaining client communications and relationships, and take ownership of reporting costs, productivity, margins and expenditures. 
    • Monitor, review and train junior accountants. 
    • Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns and tax planning for foreign taxpayers using foreign reporting requirements. 
    • Conduct tax research for international tax matters. 
    • Lead and prepare audit, review and compilation engagements using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • Set up of Quickbooks accounting software, training and consulting of all necessary aspects of the accounting software for clients including the accounts receivable modules, accounts payable modules and inventory modules
    • Assist with training junior accounting staff and monitor work product. 
    • Make recommendations for improvements to firm recordkeeping, accounting systems and technology. 
  • Skill Set
    • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field plus 2 years of experience (or Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of post-baccalaureate, progressive experience) as an accountant, auditor or related occupation.
    • Two years of experience in each of the following:
      • Tax and accounting software (Quickbooks, Lacerte, Excel)
      • Preparing individual and corporate tax returns and tax planning for U.S. and foreign taxpayers (Individuals, Partnerships, S-Corporations, C-Corporations [263A; FICA Tip Credit] and foreign-owned U.S. corporations, foreign corporations operating in the U.S.)
      • Foreign reporting requirements (FBAR, Form 8938, Form 5471, Form 5472, Form W-8, Form 1042)
      • Preparing payroll tax returns, Business Tax Licenses, Business Property Tax Statements, Forms 1096 and 1099, and Annual Tip Reporting for Restaurants
      • Performing monthly bookkeeping and preparing tax-basis financial statements (Restaurants/Medical Offices/Distributors)
      • Performing audit and review services utilizing Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for Corporations and 401K Plans

 

 

Junior Associate

  • Duties
    • Review general ledger accounts and prepare adjusting journal entries
    • Prepare the adjusted trial balance and financial statements
    • Perform account analysis and reconciliation, including bank statements and intercompany general ledger accounts
    • Prepare income tax returns
    • Assist with audit fieldwork, including preparing audit work papers
    • Prepare the following tax returns:
      • Sales and use tax returns
      • Payroll tax returns, including annual W-2 and W-3 filings
      • Form 1099 and related informational returns
      • Form 571-L
      • City business licenses
    • Track fixed assets and prepare depreciation schedules
  • Skill Set
    • Attention to detail
    • Ability to multitask effectively and work in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong organizational, technical and communication skills
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Quickbooks; Proficiency with other accounting and tax software preferable
    • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or finance preferred; fulfillment of accounting courses a must
    • Minimum one year of bookkeeping or accounting experience

 

 

Full-Charge Bookkeeper

  • Duties
    • Manage bank and general ledger reconciliations
    • Prepare month-end adjusting journal entries
    • Perform month-end closings
    • Prepare and review trial balances and financial statements
    • Payroll processing
    • Prepare the following tax returns:
      • Sales and use tax returns
      • Payroll tax returns, including annual W-2 and W-3 filings
      • Form 1099 and related informational returns
      • Form 571-L
      • City business licenses
    • Track fixed assets and prepare depreciation schedules
  • Skill Set
    • Minimum five years experience required; CPA-firm experience preferred
    • Ability to multitask effectively and work in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong communication, organizational and customer service skills
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Quickbooks required
    • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in business or accounting preferred

 

 

Accounting Intern

  • Duties
    • Enter and/or upload source transaction information into accounting software
    • Download source documents from clients and prepare for outsourcing
    • Perform bank reconciliations
    • Prepare routine period-end journal entries
    • Assist staff with data entry and other tasks
    • Prepare the following tax and inforamtion returns:
      • Sales and use tax returns
      • Form 1099 and related informational returns
      • Form 571-L
